Foundation Kicking Off “12 Acts of Community Kindness”
Hanscom AFB, MA (November 10, 2021) – Hanscom Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation is proud to announce the launch of a new ongoing charity campaign, “12 Acts of Community Kindness.” The Foundation will be donating $1,000 to three organizations each quarter, totaling $12,000 to 12 organizations annually.
This new charity campaign kicked off in Q3 of 2021 with winners Minuteman Senior Services, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes, and deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.
- Minuteman Senior Services is a non-profit in Bedford, MA, that offers various services for seniors including in-home care, legal services, and meal delivery.
- Massachusetts Fallen Heroes works to not only honor fallen service members, but also to support their families and to empower veterans.
- deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum brings modern and contemporary sculpture to the Merrimack Valley, hosting activities year-round in the park.
“We’re excited to be able to give support to worthy organizations, both locally and nationally,” said Laura Galeski, Hanscom FCU’s social responsibility manager. “We’re passionate about these specific focus areas and on our local community, both in Massachusetts and in Virginia, and are glad to be able to help and to bring more attention to charities that are doing wonderful work.”
Each organization will represent one of three categories: service area, funding area, and SEG/other area. Service area organizations are those that local to the area the credit union serves in Massachusetts and Virginia. Funding area organizations are those that provide services to groups close to the credit union’s mission, including ones serving veterans and the unhoused. SEG/other area organizations are those that either are affiliated with the credit union’s select employee groups or otherwise aren’t well defined by the other categories.
